The next morning, we got up bright and early for MeCAF! Rick of Casablanca Comics and the organizer of the event is a total peach and rearranged the table assignments so we could sit near Bob and the Boston Comics Roundtable.
To entice potential buyers, I offered free watercolor portraits with any purchase. It was a lot of work, but a total blast! (And a great exercise.) I can't believe what patient models these kids were. I brain-farted again and didn't take photos of everyone, so if you got a portrait from me and I didn't get your snapshot, send me a pic and I'll put you on the blog!
I will absolutely be back next year if MeCAF will have me. Thanks to everybody who made it an awesome experience!

That is awesome! So glad you had a fun time. The portraits are so great. I want to get you to do one of my kid, Lucien. how much for post conference?
ReplyDeleteEllen--it was GREAT meeting and trading artworks with you! (Hmmm...I think I got the better deal!) Those FREE watercolor portraits you did of the fans are great, but now EVERYONE will want them!! (I don't blame them--I want one! (We'll have to talk...)
ReplyDeleteWhat cool portraits! Every person is encapsulated in a tiny painting! Rock on!
ReplyDeletegreat portraits. i want mine done.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! WAY better than those caricatures you have done at the fair. How long did it take to do one if I may ask?
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone, for your kind comments! In answer to the couple questions...
ReplyDeleteCasey - Shoot me an email, I'd love to do Lucien!
Chelsey - Thank you! They probably took me about 10-15 minutes each.
